Salman is a talented writer and teacher. He holds both his career and faith in high regard. He attended Government High School Sheranwala gate and went on to complete his religious education (Dars E Nizami). He is currently pursuing a post-graduate degree at Al-Medina University International. Before going back to school, Salman taught English at several notable institutions, such as CARE Foundation and KIPS. In addition, he has trained many private school teachers and delivered online lectures to individuals from various countries. Salman is in the middle of writing a book on phonics and rhyming words for a private school. He is thankful to CARE for helping him become an effective worker.
Barkat, has used his education and expertise to drive his career forward. He is a former CARE student from Government Islamia Sigh School Sheranwala Gate, Lahore. Barkat claims that he learned a lot from his time at CARE. He completed his undergraduate and post-graduate studies from the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore. He worked on projects related to food safety and quality control with Nestle Pakistan, KFC, and Tetra Pact Pvt. He is currently a Food Safety officer at Al-Tamimi Global in Doha, Qatar. Al-Tamimi is the largest non-affiliated corporate law firm in the Middle East.
Salman achieved academic and professional growth on an international scale. He attended the CARE Access to English micro-scholarship program at Government Islamia High School Sheranwala Gate, Lahore. He then completed his Bachelor’s with first class honors from Oxford Brookes University, United Kingdom. After college, Salman successfully completed his ACCA qualification and joined a UK base accountancy outsourcing firm called Azure Global. He moved on to secure a job with the world’s second largest shipping company. He is currently serving as an Account Executive in the company’s Somalia based office.
Tanveer, a former CARE student from City District Government Boys High School in Township, Lahore, is the only member of his family to have obtained a postgraduate degree. He attributes his success to CARE’s Access to English Language Program (AELP). The program also gave him a platform to participate in multiple debate competitions and Model United Nations conferences. He is currently an English Lecturer at the Punjab Group of Colleges.
Shaban’s father was a railway servant. He had limited means to provide for his six children. Representatives from CARE visited Shaban’s school to distribute forms for our scholarship program. Shaban’s entire life changed once he applied. After receiving a score of 727 on his matriculation exams, he was granted a full scholarship to pursue his Bachelor’s at the University of Punjab. He went on to complete his Masters at the same university as well. After wrapping up his education, he got a job as a Lecturer through the Ministry of Defense. During his posting at Cadet College, Skardu, he was given an opportunity to work as a Uniform Personnel. Today, he is serving Pakistan as a Flying Officer.
Sammer joined CARE adopted City District Government High School Factory Area for her matriculation. After she scored 75% in her matriculation, CARE rewarded her with a scholarship to complete her intermediate at Government Ayesha Degree College. She then received her Bachelor’s from the School of Allied Health Sciences in the field of medical laboratory technology. Sammar excelled as a student at Allied Health and secured Second Position in her first professional examination. She is currently working at Shaukat Khanam Cancer Memorial Hospital as a Medical Laboratory Technologist.
